February 2017 Book Releases

January 11, 2017

Being one of those readers who enjoys a large variety of genres, I sometimes find it easy to become overwhelmed with new releases. What should I read next? The paranormal romance about the werebeast? Or the feminist, not-so-fictional story about rape culture? What about the latest installment in an ongoing fantasy series that I’ve been desperately waiting for?

If you’re anything like me, you might find the sheer volume of options daunting, and worry about missing out on awesome, lesser publicized books that might get buried under the hype surrounding the big name bestsellers.

Not to fear, fellow reader! To help us all out, I’ve decided to begin a monthly post highlighting the standout releases in several genres, and, in honor of #diversitybingo2017, there will be a special emphasis on diversity. Click on each to learn more!

Thanks! And I know what you mean. My obituary will likely read: “crushed to death by her TBR”.

I’m particularly interested in The Hate You Give, The Education of MargotSanchez, and American Street since those are authors that are new to me.

I honestly don’t even know how to prioritize them. I want to read so many on this list. The Hate U Give and American Street are pretty high up there, though. And I already have an ARC of The Lonely Hearts Hotel, so I think I’ll likely start there.

Great Post! I’m looking forward to Empress of the thousand skies, Gilded Cage and The Daughter of the pirate king. 😀

Ah, got a craving for some YA fantasy? I totally understand. There are so many exciting titles in that genre this year.

Yep! I’m total sucker for YA fantasies but I also read some contemporaries too! 😀

I hear you. I tend to genre hop based on mood. It’s a kind of mental palate cleanse, too. I can’t just string books of the same genre together, because I’ve found that they all start to blur O_O

SAME. It’s time to just admit defeat.
